Product Review: The Body Shop’s Body Yoghurt

The Quest for Pole Friendly Moisturisers…

As you know by now, dry skin won’t grip the pole, and freshly moisturised skin makes for a slippery death trap.  Moisturising on the day of pole is tricky!  and until recently only two products across the country have been widely tested by pole dancers and found to be agreeable – Vaseline Essential Moisture and The Body Shop’s Body Sorbet.

The Body Sorbet was the favorite of the two as it is an Aloe based product, plus of course The Body Shop historically have a great reputation of being an all-round good brand for being cruelty free, fair trade and charity backing.

But sadly, the beloved pole friendly Body Sorbet is being discontinued.

DUN DUN DUUUUUUUNNNNN!

(Fade in a chorus of crying pole dancers everywhere!).

But cry not – because they ARE replacing it with the product which I’ve tested today. BUT… does it work?

Here’s my little review of

The Body Shop’s Body Yoghurt

In my personal opinion: YES!

Body Yoghurt is a water based creme, which soaks into the skin in an instant! It’s glorious! I completely slathered myself in it on the afternoon before pole and had absolutely NO PROBLEM sticking to the pole!

My skin felt better hydrated than the original Body Sorbet, and we’re finding that this delightfully smooth and slightly gel like creme glides onto the skin with no effort at all, and just isn’t grainy like the sorbet was.

The Body Shop describe this as a lighter version of their Body Butter for day wear, and as such, one of the ingredients therefore contains an oil base.

It’s being said by some other testers that because of this, not everyone is getting on as well with it, so the chances are this may be a bit hit n miss and not for EVERYONE, so all we can do here is try try try and not take just one person’s word for it.

It comes in a whole range of delicious flavours and scents, and because it’s The Body Shop, it’ll be difficult for you to choose just one as they are all absolutely DIVINE! But if you are in store, pop up to the counter and ASK for some samples to try as they do have sachets of it hidden away!

Best of all though, it’s cruelty free, Organic and Fair Trade as standard but it’s also…

100% Veeeeeeeegaaaan!

Some folks have been testing it directly onto hands and just before pole to use as a grip aid with some success too, but I haven’t tried it this way myself yet, so I’ll update this when I have. But for now…

I LIKES IT!
