Christmas Themed Beginner Burlesque Course

Learn the ‘Art Of Tease’…

And have some fun just fully embracing being a vibrant, confident, sensual WOMAN with us!

This class is available to anyone and everyone! You don’t need to be a pole student or have had any experience before.

About The Course…

WEEK 1 – BRING HEELS!

Can’t walk in heels?
No problem – Week 1 is all about the strut! How to walk into a room and command attention! Various walks and poses will be covered, as well as basic moves, signature moves, and chair prop work!

If you’ve done this before, we will recap, hone your skills and style out a new walks and poses that reflect your Christmas character or personality!

In this session, we will discuss props, poses, and outfits ready for next week.

You’ll also learn a little about the history of Burlesque and be given research pointers.

What parts of you do you want to showcase? How do you want to look? Who is your audience? Who is your character and what is she like?

 

WEEK 2 – Santa Baby!

It’s time to start your routine! We are working with Santa Baby by Ertha Kitt, to help bring the seasonal sensuality out of you!

You will follow a classic Burlesque routine involving the chair of course, which will be tailored further down the line with your own individual choices of garment removal, props etc… based on your chosen personality and style.

Will you go for tinsel titties? Mistletoe kisses? Red crushed velvet and white fur trims? Red and white striped stockings? A full sized candy cane? Christmas champagne? Are you an Elf? Or a prancing Reindeer? Have you been nice? Or are you on Santa’s naughty list?!

Everything plays a role in your own personal routine so have a good think about what you’d like to use, how you’d like to use it and what makes sense.

If you’ve done a course with us before, remember what you learned and incorporate as much as you can!

 

WEEK 3 – BRING YOUR OUTFIT

In this session, you will complete your routine, master garment removal, do more character work and fully test drive the props and outfits to make sure they are easy enough to carry and remove etc… taking out anything that isn’t working for you and tweaking bits until you look AND feel nothing less than FABULOUS!

If you’ve done a course with us before, as a confidence exercise we will briefly perform your routines for the newbies, as well as have some brief confidence coaching.

 

WEEK 4 – THE FINALE!

In the last session, you will finish and practise the full routine, perform it and we will record you (for your own personal use!).

It was the first playlist I made, and spans over ten years worth of clever additions.  That’s TEN WHOLE YEARS of me eyeballing every Facebook shout out for recommendations, ten years of internet searches and playlist sharing with some of the top pole stars in the industry from around the world.

This month’s playlist is a combination mostly of pretty, airy and dreamy from the likes of Koven, Odesza, and Zed’s dead. Moving through with some feminine badassery from Ruelle, T-Swift and Beyonce, with a peppering of ethnic beats from Asadi.

But of course, kickass gravel rock carries us through to the end – making sure we use every last once of energy, courtesy of Chevelle, Dorothy and CleoPatrick.

So our pole dance playlists are carefully and painstakingly hand picked from the universe, just for you.

This month’s playlist includes some remixy goodness from Bassnectar, High Society and Whissell.  Along with  dreamy drum n bass thanks to Drumsound & Baseline Smith, The Glitch Mob and Black Tiger Sex Machine.

Followed with seductive, sultry tracks from The Alpines, Taska Black, Ruelle and Adventure Club.  Plus a few feel good tracks from one of my faves – Illenium.

But the track that I am most proud to add is the cultural fusion of Punjabi Death Metal from Bloodywood – ‘AriAriAri’ …… it’ll confuse the hell out of you but it’s absolutely amazing and you have to hear it for yourself!

I Am New – What Do I Do?

We get it.   You’re new, and you haven’t got a clue.

You don’t know what to wear, what to bring, where to park, how to act, or what to say – and that’s O.K.

What’s in your Pole Gym Kit?

Once you get past Beginner level in pole dance, and things are starting to become a bit more serious, it’s well worth picking yourself up a ‘Pole Gym Bag’, to be kept in the car at all times, ready for pole class!

It is a known fact that a woman do carry an evening bag at dinner time

Leggings are out and cute little outfits are in, the smaller the better!  By now, hopefully you’ll be using your health journal and carrying it everywhere with you, and then there’s the pole grip you bought the other week to cart around too, plus your phone for the all important pole selfies, water infuser, hand towel, stripper heels etc…

If your going to make a commitment then it’s time to kit you out like you mean business!

HOW TO: Treat a Muscle Injury

Although most of the time this happens outside of class, and at pole we have lots of great practices and injury prevention techniques in place, every once in a while someone may experience an ouchie.

Even if we can deadlift and suspend our entire body sideways, aerially via pole – shockingly we are not super human after all, and injuries happen to the best of us.

Muscle soreness is pretty standard and honestly, if you don’t feel beasted after a good pole session then did you even work out?
