Zoraya & Nic Judd…Zoraya

Perfect Strength.  Perfect Balance.  Perfect Grace.

Zoraya Judd – what can I say about her?  She just takes my breath away!  I think Sally Ann said it best when she welcomed us all to the Zoraya masterclass …
I don’t do masterclasses, but I do Zoraya!  This will probably be the only masterclass I will ever offer, she is MY idol.
Well …. says it all really doesn’t it?

Zoraya Judd is an extraordinary and rare woman, she is uniquely talented in pole, with her main attributes being absolutely breathtakingly smooth and graceful gravity defiant deadlifts!  She is head of her tribe of men (Zoraya has two beautiful sons), a spiritual goddess and maker of fine feathered thingiebobs too.

Zoraya was merely a pole student going through instructor training when she was entered by her teacher into a major pole competition WHICH SHE WON after only minimal pole experience under her belt, and shortly after the birth of her second son, with THIS gobstopping performance:   Continue reading “Zoraya & Nic Judd…Zoraya”

Zoraya & Nic Judd…Nic

Meet the Judds….

I was super excited about doing this interview as it’s a rare kind (absolutely nothing to do with Nic being an outrageously hunky hottie!). Usually I just interview the superstar but the Judds are unique because they are very much a team.

Zoraya is the talent for sure, and my pole idol, but there’s a saying that ‘behind every great man is a strong woman’ right? well, this interview is also unique because this time I get to hear from the other side of the coin, in this case –
’behind the great woman is her strong man.
I wanted to interview Nic because he too has made his mark in pole as being something of a super hero himself. So I wanted to find out how he has managed to dodge becoming a ‘pole widow husband’ and helped his talented wife succeed, how he maintains support and where we can get ten more like him!

All about Nic …

Jess Leanne Norris…

Teen Pole Queen and our 2011 Miss Pole Dance

Why??? Well, she is this year’s Miss Pole Dance UK, a phenomenal pole artist, has had an extensive amount of media coverage in the last year, set up two pole studios after just 3 years of pole dance experience under her belt …. yeah yeah yeah …. this is all very impressive but did I mention that Jess is JUST 18 years old?! Felix Cane…

Bio of a World Champion Pole Dancer

Before discovering her passion for pole dancing, Felix was schooled extensively as a dancer firstly in Perth, from the age of 11 until the age of 15, when she moved to London where she continued to study many forms of dance, but predominantly contemporary and classical.

Felix has experience performing with professional contemporary and classical dance companies, working in many different venues including theatres in and around London.  Whilst in London she also worked in television and film.

Becca Butcher…

The Samurai Queen of Pole!

I have just completed a Masterclass with Becca Butcher, this year’s international trixpert – winner of ‘Polarity’.  At this point, all I know about Becca Butcher is what the internet tells me : – that sometime in 2009, she sprung from the ground and entered a high profile pole dance competition alongside some of the current greats.  Becca’s dancing made people gasp with awe, after only pole dancing for a short time this is a rare thing.  I wanted to see more so I started looking around for all things Becca,  THEN I found one of the coolest things ever: Continue reading “Becca Butcher…”

Sally Ann Giles…

In Bed with Sally Ann Giles

I first saw Sally Ann at the Pole Diva’s competition in 2007, I was actually there to support another brilliant pole dancer, whome I was convinced had won the competition, but then SHE seemed to just come out of nowhere and was so brilliant she literally stunned the crowd and claimed the title.
I was curious about this random ‘mystery woman’ and wanted to find out more.  As I completed this interview, ‘mystery woman’ ended up becoming the pole dancer that I most respect in all the world.
Sally Ann then went on to win every competition she ever entered so when I had the opportunity to meet her again at LIW 09 I wanted to find out more about where she had come from and how she came to be such an influential and inspiring pole dancer.  THIS was her performance at Pole Diva’s – her first ever (REAL!) competition, and the first time I clapped eyes on Britain’s most celebrated and multi award-winning pole champion: Continue reading “Sally Ann Giles…”

Pantera Blacksmith…

The Infamous Trickster

I first heard of Pantera waaaaaay back in early 2006, not long after I got my very first pole (an X-Pole of course), when I was only a beginner pole dancer!

My giddy mate came dashing over to my house waving ‘Pole tricks 101’  in her hand, and with the pole set up n’ ready in my living room we had the DVD on in seconds!  At first, I was wildly confused.  I remember saying:
Nah mate, this isn’t quite what we were after; this is more like for circus people!.
But of course, like a car wreck….I couldn’t look away!  Eyes glued to the screen, dumbstruck expressions and open swung gobs, the three of sat and watched this amazing woman with superhero strength lash herself around the pole with lightening speed and pin-point precision.  We were mesmerised as Pantera lay flat on the ceiling and laughed in the face of gravity!

We all went to bed that night, changed for life!  How did she do it?  Man I didn’t even know half that stuff was even possible!  Who is she?  Where did she come from?  This was a few years ago so if she was that good then…. what will she do next??!!  I didn’t know ANYTHING about her.  Today, my questions were answered, she invented the ‘Death Lay’, and I can tell you….her name is…..

Paaaaaaanterrrrraaaaaaaaa!!!

Jamilla DeVille…

Australia’s Glitter Girl

The first I saw of Jamilla Deville was only a few years ago when she performed a routine at the launch of the IPF (International Pole Federation), but of course being stuck out in the sticks in North Wales, I was viewing through the power of the Youtube!.

I had heard the name whispered on the forums before,
’The Original Miss Pole Dance Australia'
By then I was only a wee pole nipper and didn’t really too know much.

Curiosity got the better of me and I wondered around the tube looking for this sparkly, spangly, long legged glittering pole babe.  Didn’t take me long!  Jamilla is instantly recognisable!   She is elegant, graceful, strong, precise, has legs that go on and on, a sparkling bikini and a showgirl smile – Everything a girl needs to be a world class performer!

As a founding member of the IPF and an inspiring performer, Jamilla is pole gold dust as well as a true explorer of ‘The Art of Pole’, and I am delighted to have been given the chance to ask this incredible bird some questions, all be-it only via email – she does live on the opposite side of the World yunno!

So without further gilding the lily, it gives me great pleasure to introduce Australia’s Glitter Girl…………. Jamilla Deville. Continue reading “Jamilla DeVille…”

If you have been learning to pole dance in the last 5 years, chances are; your first real research or point of contact will lead you straight to Katie Coates, or Vertical Dance.
