Jamilla DeVille…

Australia’s Glitter Girl

The first I saw of Jamilla Deville was only a few years ago when she performed a routine at the launch of the IPF (International Pole Federation), but of course being stuck out in the sticks in North Wales, I was viewing through the power of the Youtube!.

I had heard the name whispered on the forums before,
’The Original Miss Pole Dance Australia'
By then I was only a wee pole nipper and didn’t really too know much.

Curiosity got the better of me and I wondered around the tube looking for this sparkly, spangly, long legged glittering pole babe.  Didn’t take me long!  Jamilla is instantly recognisable!   She is elegant, graceful, strong, precise, has legs that go on and on, a sparkling bikini and a showgirl smile – Everything a girl needs to be a world class performer!

As a founding member of the IPF and an inspiring performer, Jamilla is pole gold dust as well as a true explorer of ‘The Art of Pole’, and I am delighted to have been given the chance to ask this incredible bird some questions, all be-it only via email – she does live on the opposite side of the World yunno!

So without further gilding the lily, it gives me great pleasure to introduce Australia’s Glitter Girl…………. Jamilla Deville. Continue reading “Jamilla DeVille…”

Katie Coates Interview

KT – Britain’s Original Pole Dance Fitness Ambassador

If you have been learning to pole dance in the last 5 years, chances are; your first real research or point of contact will lead you straight to Katie Coates, or Vertical Dance.
Katie was one of the first pole dancers in the UK to promote pole dance as a means for women to get fit, taking the stigma of seedyness away from it’s original past time, and bringing it forward into the present as a widely accepted sport.
She’s also ‘The Original X-Pole girl’!, and widely known as the first, the original, the only!

It has not been an easy ride for Katie, but as you read more from her bio, Katie has some impossibly huge achievements under her belt, some are of a global scale! She has inspired women worldwide to find strength and courage to carry out their dreams and better themselves.
Candy & Chrome wanted the opportunity to converse with her and learn more about the great struggles and great triumphs this lady has single handedly had to fight for, and to find out about the woman herself – BEFORE pole, during the hard times, and now as an inspirational leader, and Britain’s first pole dance ambassador.
This interview is about ‘What Katie did’….. Continue reading “Katie Coates Interview”

Annie Norris…

Pole Instructor, Champion and Glamour Babe

Annie Norris to me was just a girl, a girl I had met on a forum one day, who likes to pole dance.
She was always very nice and supportive to everyone and always offered sound advice whenever asked, but I didn’t really know who she was.
Then at Pole Diva’s last year, I took a bus load of Candy & Chrome students to watch the show expecting some thrills but I had no idea what to expect when it came to Annie.

Annie gave an absolute knockout performance which stunned the crowd and she was marvelled at for her unique style and impressively strong tricks.  The ‘robot dance’ quickly became legendary and soon everyone was talking about ‘Annie Norris’.  Since then she has ranked very highly in National Pole Dance competitions, become an X-Pole girl, been on the cover of countless magazines, had a judging spot at the UK APP competition and offers live performances.

This year at LIW, I managed to pin her down and ask her some questions about life, pole, robot dancing….and those massive boobs! Continue reading “Annie Norris…”

Suzie Q…

Instructor, Model & Showgirl

Soooo ….. Suzie Q – I ‘found’ her by accident really, I was watching MPD Aus 08 – By then I already knew that Felix had won it but hadn’t seen the routine.  My TV remote was on the fritz and THANK GOD! Otherwise I would have skipped ahead and just watched that (oh the shame!) … So I watched the whole thing in one sitting.
Although I loved every single performance, Suzie Q had something special for me.  Her ‘Mission Impossible’ routine absolutely blew me away!
Each performance has a strong theme, and all the shebang that goes with it – the music, the costume, the moves.  Her show-womanship is so believable, she made me feel like I was in her world every time.  So when I heard that she would be at LIW  here in the UK, I jumped at the chance to go and see her ….. and her pet skunk.
