NEW Beginner Burlesque Workshop – Chester

Presented by Candy & Chrome, with Guest Instructor Lola Lashes

Learn the ‘Art Of Tease’ and have some fun just fully embracing being a vibrant, confident, sensual WOMAN with us in this 2 hour Easter themed workshop.

Pre-Requisites:  None whatsoever.  Anyone can try this class.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

A fully choreographed, sexy Burlesque routine, designed to engage and excite your audience!  This routine has been choreographed with the intention for you to later perform it for your special someone.

During your Easter routine, the instructor will teach you:

To walk with power, prowess and confidence
Poses that command attention and show off your form
Chair work that that will engage and tantalize your viewer
Sexy shoe removal
Classic Burlesque, playful stocking removal
Sensual garment removal, prop work and how to perfectly execute ‘The Big Reveal’!

Use of props will be offered to incorporate into your routine, but it is not essential that you do, sometimes simple is best!  And as Candy & Chrome standard, you will have plenty of freedom, suggestions and support for personalisation, and expressing yourself.  Tailor it YOUR WAY!

WHAT TO BRING:

For this workshop you will need:

BUNNY EARS & TAIL SET – It’s Easter after all, and the theme is ‘Hunny Bunny’.  Ear & tail sets are currently around the £3-£6 mark in just about any shop or online store.  Ebay is always a winner.
A LARGE CARROT – For prop work!
SHOES – Something easy to walk in, and easy to slip off!  So no buckles or straps to faff with!
STOCKINGS – Hold-up’s or Suspenders – choose your weapon!
LBD – (Little Black Dress) Something slinky, sexy and easy to slip out of!  Ideally a silk slip night dress would be perfect (Primark have really nice ones at a very reasonable price right now!), or something halter neck perhaps?
UNDER ARMOUR – A corset is fine if your a seasoned expert, but otherwise you may prefer a sexy matching two piece, a body suit, or something even more fruity… if you dare!

Product Review: The Body Shop’s Body Yoghurt

The Quest for Pole Friendly Moisturisers…

As you know by now, dry skin won’t grip the pole, and freshly moisturised skin makes for a slippery death trap.  Moisturising on the day of pole is tricky!  and until recently only two products across the country have been widely tested by pole dancers and found to be agreeable – Vaseline Essential Moisture and The Body Shop’s Body Sorbet.

The Body Sorbet was the favorite of the two as it is an Aloe based product, plus of course The Body Shop historically have a great reputation of being an all-round good brand for being cruelty free, fair trade and charity backing.

But sadly, the beloved pole friendly Body Sorbet is being discontinued.

DUN DUN DUUUUUUUNNNNN!

(Fade in a chorus of crying pole dancers everywhere!).

But cry not – because they ARE replacing it with the product which I’ve tested today. BUT… does it work?

Here’s my little review of

The Body Shop’s Body Yoghurt

In my personal opinion: YES!

Body Yoghurt is a water based creme, which soaks into the skin in an instant! It’s glorious! I completely slathered myself in it on the afternoon before pole and had absolutely NO PROBLEM sticking to the pole!

My skin felt better hydrated than the original Body Sorbet, and we’re finding that this delightfully smooth and slightly gel like creme glides onto the skin with no effort at all, and just isn’t grainy like the sorbet was.

The Body Shop describe this as a lighter version of their Body Butter for day wear, and as such, one of the ingredients therefore contains an oil base.

It’s being said by some other testers that because of this, not everyone is getting on as well with it, so the chances are this may be a bit hit n miss and not for EVERYONE, so all we can do here is try try try and not take just one person’s word for it.

It comes in a whole range of delicious flavours and scents, and because it’s The Body Shop, it’ll be difficult for you to choose just one as they are all absolutely DIVINE! But if you are in store, pop up to the counter and ASK for some samples to try as they do have sachets of it hidden away!

Best of all though, it’s cruelty free, Organic and Fair Trade as standard but it’s also…

100% Veeeeeeeegaaaan!

Some folks have been testing it directly onto hands and just before pole to use as a grip aid with some success too, but I haven’t tried it this way myself yet, so I’ll update this when I have. But for now…

I LIKES IT!

Halloween tracks added to our Pole Playlist section…

Selecting pole tracks is an art form …

You can’t just throw in any old tune.  Oh no no no.

So our pole playlists are carefully hand picked from the universe, just for you.

The Halloween pole playlist has a good mix of spooktacular tracks, with dark, sexy undertones – just the way we like it! Even Dracular himself would have a ‘hard time’ containing his excite.

We’ve tried to get in a bit of everything – from rock to dance, to trap and dirty dubstep.  There’s one or two classics thrown in there, plus some remixes of course, but this list is mostly fresh, modern, dirty sexy, and with minimal helpings of spook-cheese.

Anyway …. Enjoy! …

Mourning Ritual – Bad moon rising

Our Masterclass with …

Miss Sally Ann Giles!

So this weekend just gone, myself and my super hot number 2 Darryl went to have a masterclass with none other than SAG!

OMGZ!

I’m still calming down right now but needless to say we loved every minute and I will happily recommend burning your money on something like this in the future if the occasion arises because it is well worth it! (Maybe we should invite her to Candy & Chrome Chester sometime?)

Sally is not only a strong warrior woman (see video for proof!), but she is also a strong instructor too.  I think I would marry her someday.  I said that out loud didn’t I?
Everything you do with pole, is all about the ‘push and pull’.  Any time your hand is above your shoulder, it’s a power lift, any time your hand is low, it’s a supportive push.
Anyhoo – I walked away very happy because Sally’s teaching style is very similar to mine, and it was nice to have someone like her confirm a lot (like 99%) of what I say to you girls in class, and it was nice to be in the role reversal of being a student under her.

I have (as always!) made notes of what we have learned and the technique behind it Continue reading “Our Masterclass with …”
