OMG this thing is my latest obsession and has made a massive difference to my life!
(it’s not a sex toy either btw – but it might be as satisfying!).
Great for releasing stress tension in the neck & shoulders – whether you pole or not!
But if you do pole, the nodger will locate and destroy those naggy knots! (especially the ones that hide just under your shoulder blade!).
Get the ultimate ooohhh ahhhh feeling and claim your back back!

10 Motivational Tips

To Keep Your ‘PoleJo’ Flowing

Pole is for life, not just for January!
I know that when you make your new year resolutions, you really do mean it.  I believe you.  You genuinely have the best of intentions.
But you’d be a superfreak if you naturally just kept them all for the whole year without hiccup.
The human body DOES NOT store motivation, so don’t dwell when you fall off the wagon – that’s inevitable and the odds are never in your favour when it comes to staying motivated by yourself.
That only way you fail is if you give up when you’re on a downer. It’s easy done.

So how to beat it? STAY MOTIVATED! Sounds simple enough but actually THAT’S the hardest part of all.
I’m no expert at this either, however I do have at least 10 good tips that could help you… Continue reading “10 Motivational Tips”

DIET: Eating to prevent bruising

Prevention is better than cure …

**Important**
Before taking any new supplements or making new diet changes, you should always consult your GP and dispensing herbalist.  OBVS.

Bruises, Pole Kisses – come hand in hand with pole, most especially when your a total newbie.

I firmly believe that if you ain’t bruising, you ain’t doing it right!  And if you do get some good un’s, then we should wear them like a badge of honor as they represent achievement.

But that’s not for everybody and some people just bruise like a peach, ending up looking a bit battered and unsightly.

This could be because you are deficient in Vitamin K, or C, and a simple diet change could make a huge difference here.  But of course – speak to your GP about that as – I’m no Doctor!

Alternatively, you could talk to your local dispensing herbalist.  If you live in or near Chester, we like the people at The Groves Herbalist shop in Hoole.  They’re cool.

Either way, it’s generally a good idea to get your vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients from a good, balanced diet – naturally, as diet plays a role in both the prevention and healing of bruises.

Here are 7 diet changes you can easily make help prevent pole bruises:

Moisturising … On the day of pole!

How very dare you!

You know the rules – No moisturising on the day of pole!  Or can we …. ?

For hundreds of years (ok maybe not hundreds, but as far back as I can remember) the cardinal sin of all things pole is moisturising your skin on the day of pole.

Moisturising body products like creams, oils, lotions, fake tan etc … leaves your skin coated in a film of producty goop, which makes YOU kinda slimy, meaning no grip, which transfers to the pole, meaning continuous cleaning of the damn pole instead of learning any actual pole, and it STILL causes a potential slippery death trap for the person after you!

So generally, moisturising on the day of pole is BANNED.

But of course, dry de-hydrated skin doesn’t grip well either.  Sigh. Continue reading “Moisturising … On the day of pole!”

Exfoliating & Moisturising

By now you know …

That once you get past beginner level, more and more pole moves require lots of skin contact on the pole.  It’s not all about muscle, it’s about technique!

Learning the technique however, and being able to hold the poses on the pole depends on having GOOD bare skin contact.

Skin that’s too dry:

Equals crap grip.  Dry, chalky, under nourished skin just utterly fails to grip the pole.

Skin that’s too clammy:

Whether it’s because of sweat, products on the skin or over-moisturising also equals crap grip. Slippery slip slide n slop.
So how do we look after our skin without committing the cardinal sin of pole?

‘Thou shall not moisturise on day of pole’.

By looking after it in-between your pole sessions, by doing these three simple things … Continue reading “Exfoliating & Moisturising”

The 30 Day Squat Challenge

Whatever size you are … Killer legs and curvy butts.  That’s what we all want right?

It’s not that pole doesn’t work my whole body and keep me firm – IT DOES!  But like any form of fitness or dance – it only works if you’re consistently doing enough of it and although I love pole, I am not an ‘athlete’, I am a normal person – just like you … and just like you, I don’t train every day, or even as often as I should, I’ve done sweet FA over the Christmas holidays and now my butt has gone from perky and rounded to well … a bit flat and generally sad looking really.
